  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the German banking system and capital markets, as well as Frankfurt’s position as a leading European financial center, including perspectives on gender in finance.
  • Engage with academic and industry experts to explore the regulatory, social, and economic frameworks shaping careers in Germany, while comparing German and Korean business cultures.
  • The program combines lectures at Frankfurt UAS with company visits, interactive workshops, and case studies in collaboration with industry partners.

Global Female Talents in Finance and Business is an interdisciplinary course designed to prepare international female students for careers in finance and business. The program focuses on the German financial system, legal and economic frameworks, and issues of gender equality and leadership in the workplace.

Participants gain a solid understanding of the German banking system, Frankfurt’s role as a leading European financial hub, and the business models of national and international banks. In addition, the course covers the structure of the German and European capital markets, key financial instruments traded on German exchanges, and the main differences between the German and Korean capital markets, incorporating gender perspectives throughout.

Another core component is German employment law, including permissible types of dismissal and protection against dismissal, maternity and parental leave, gender-based pay equality, part-time work, vacation and educational leave, as well as the role of works councils and employee co-determination. Through interaction with experts from academia and industry, participants compare German and Korean business cultures and develop a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory, social, and economic conditions shaping careers and working life in Germany. The course also explores living and working conditions in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region.

The teaching format combines lectures at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences with company visits, workshops, and practice-oriented case studies conducted in cooperation with industry and business partners.

Empowering Women: Experience, Learn and Connect is at the core of the course’s philosophy. Designed specifically for female students, the program strengthens confidence and key professional skills for early career development while encouraging critical reflection on power relations, gender roles, and structural inequalities in everyday working life. Women’s leadership in organizational contexts is explored both academically and in practice. The course is predominantly taught by female lecturers who provide expertise, guidance, and inspiration, supported by a largely female program team that offers close mentoring throughout. In addition, female role models from partner companies and institutions share real-world insights into successful career paths and leadership experiences, creating a strong network of learning, support, and inspiration.

The course is delivered through lectures and case-based learning sessions with interactive discussions. Selected case studies and exercises illustrate concepts in practice and support the application of theoretical content. Applied knowledge is shared by experts and institutional representatives, helping students connect theory with practical examples. Students are assessed through a multiple-choice exam and their active participation in discussions and interactive activities. The final grade reflects both exam performance and engagement in the course.
